Some clients want fast.
Some clients want cheap.
My wife wanted it right.
That made her my most challenging client. Not because she was difficult, but because she knew exactly what she wanted, exactly what she didn’t want, and because if I missed the mark, I’d hear about it over dinner.
TLC Early Childhood Consulting was built for an educator with decades of experience in early childhood education, district leadership, training, and professional development. While the project included a complete brand identity, the real challenge was creating a website system that could support speaking engagements, consulting inquiries, training opportunities, book sales, and lead generation without creating more administrative work.A professional but approachable visual identity centered around education, growth, and trust.
The logo combines a colorful apple symbol with soft typography that reflects both expertise and nurturing leadership. The brand was designed to feel equally at home in a classroom, conference room, or keynote stage.
Before building pages, we mapped the client journey.
Different audiences visit for different reasons:
• School administrators seeking professional development
• Childcare facility owners needing staff training
• Educators looking for guidance and resources
• Event organizers searching for speakers
The site was structured to quickly direct each audience to the information and actions most relevant to them.
The design balances professionalism with warmth. Clean layouts, clear navigation, and strategic calls-to-action help visitors move naturally through the site while reinforcing credibility and expertise at every step.
This became the heart of the project.
Rather than relying on email back-and-forth, the site was designed to guide visitors toward action.
Features included:The goal was simple: answer questions before they were asked and make taking the next step easy.
The website supports the sale of educational resources, including her children’s book, Mirrors Up.
Visitors can discover products, learn about them, and complete purchases without leaving the ecosystem.
To support conferences, speaking engagements, and community events, we created: Book cover and interior layout design
• Event flyersEvery piece was designed to work together and strengthen brand recognition.
Custom social media templates were created to maintain visual consistency across platforms.
Training was also provided so content could be created quickly without needing a designer for every post.
The project included strategic guidance on messaging, positioning, marketing materials, and digital infrastructure to ensure the business could continue growing long after launch.
Today, TLC Early Childhood Consulting has a professional online presence that reflects the depth of experience behind the business.
More importantly, the website works.
It captures leads, supports bookings, sells resources, and helps potential clients find the information they need without creating additional work for the owner.
The branding helped establish credibility.
The system helps move people from interested to engaged.
And perhaps most importantly, I can now sit through dinner without hearing, “Can you fix one more thing on the website?”
